           In 1938, Getúlio Vargas gained power after leading a revolution. He used his dictatorial powers, for granted, and worked for the centralize government until they dethroned him in 1945. In 1933 Vargas was elected in four-year term of being the president of Brazil. Using his almost limitless powers he implemented some deep changes in Brazil.The law banned him from succeeding himself.  The Estado Nôvo or the New State is the new political economic system that he have created. He was known as Pai dos Pobres or Father of the Poor. During the World War II, when US and United Kingdom wanted Brazil as ally, Vargas took advantage of that, so he can negotiated funds for Brazil.

Getulio Vargas

Getulio Vargas got his Country in power by being "Father of the Poor" because he battled against very big businesses and big landowners. He also brought Social and Economic changes that helped the Country. One of his biggest accomplishment's that he did was guide Brazil out of the Great Depression and helped them out on Populism and Fascism during still in office. Vargas even though he seemed to help the Country he didn't change the Private-Enterprise system nor did he change the Social Reforms on the poor. Vargas ruled most of time without Congress. October 29,1945 Getulio Vargas was overthrown by a Coup d'état in a Democratic Sentiment sweeping Postwar Brazil.
